Sewing Retreat (In person)

Whether you're a novice or seasoned pro, discover new techniques with hands-on learning, share inspiration, and unwind in the company of friends and in the pleasure of exquisite food. From personalized projects to shared stories, let the rhythm of the needle and the hum of the machine create memories that stitch together a perfect retreat. It's a weekend that seamlessly weaves together learning, inspiration, relaxation, and delightful treats. And at the same time raising money for the children of Blair County through the Free Toy Box Pantry. Attend this retreat and be their hero!

As a token of our gratitude for your presence each day, participants and vendors, you will receive a special welcome gift of your choice upon arrival at 10am. If you arrive late the sewing teacher will have your gift at her desk.

**Door Prize Raffle:**

Every attendee and vendor has a chance to win exciting door prizes each day just for coming.

**Sewing Classes, Taught Each Day**

15 different free classes, each offering expert guidance. Participation is voluntary and great for all skill levels. Each demonstration is thirty minutes long. Plus receive free detailed written instructions pertaining to the subject. Following each class there will be a 15 minute presentation demonstrating supplies that are useful in the class topic. Plus receive a free fat quarter of your choice at each class. Kits will be available, for purchase, pertaining to each class topic. The kits contain everything that you will need in order to create the project that is being taught.

**Mystery Quilt (3 Class Series)**

The design is a fun secret. In each class we will give you step by step instructions on how to make this quilt from start to finish. The finished size will be 50 inches x 65 inches. You will need 2 light colors and 2 dark colors. Each color needs 3/4 yard of cotton fabric. The first three people to finish their quilt top will each receive a prize that is a $50 value.

Long Arm Quilting, Professional Licensed Manicurists / Pedicurists, Professional Licensed Masseuse (Additional fees apply based off of the services that you order and is paid to the vendor.)

**Fat Quarter Swap Game, Once Each Day:**

A thrilling game where each participant contributes one or more fat quarters per game, each fat quarter receives one ticket. The fat quarter bundle will then be raffled and whoever has the winning number gets to keep all of the fat quarters.

**Personalized Embroidered Quilt Labels**

Tell us what you want your label to say, in what thread and fabric color, letter and label size, plus how many labels. Letters are in a cursive beautiful font. They will be available at the front desk for you to pick up during check in. Each letter is 25 cents; include this additional fee in your registration if you want labels. When purchasing tickets to this party on the website add a tip with a detailed note during the check out process.

**50/50 Raffle, For The Free Toy Box Pantry Non Profit EIN #88-1063619, Available Each Day:**

Purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win half of the total proceeds. The other half will be donated to the Free Toy Box Pantry, a non profit dedicated to providing toys and diapers for those in need. There will also be a table where you can donate toys and diapers for the pantry.

**Silent Auction, Available Each Day:**

Bid on fabulous items and experiences. Place your bids discreetly, and the highest bidder will take home the sought after treasures. Receive your bid number from the sewing teacher.

** On Site Food, Available Each Day**

We are offering a buffet lunch & dinner option. One price includes both lunch and dinner buffets. No more waiting for your meal during meal times. This Package is ($50/person) The dining package is not refundable after 10/5/2024.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Box Lunch - 11:45 AM- 1:15 PM

Choose your favorite sandwich: Ham and Swiss on a sub roll, Turkey and Cheddar on a sub roll, Vegetarian wrap, 6 inch italian sub, Roast Beef and provolone on a sub roll. Includes condiments, whole fruit, Potato Chips, cookies, and bottled water.

Friday Dinner Buffet - 5:30PM - 7:00 PM

Italian wedding soup, Linguini and penne pasta, red sauce & alfredo sauce, grilled chicken, and meatballs. Sides include herbed broccoli, house salad with Italian and ranch dressing, garlic bread, and assorted dessert bars and cookies. Served with iced tea, lemonade, & coffee.

Saturday Dinner Buffet - 5:30PM - 7:00 PM

Brown sugar glazed ham, baked potato with sour cream, butter, green onions, and shredded cheese, pasta salad, green beans almandine, glazed carrots, house salad with Italian and ranch dressing, dinner roll, and apple pie. Served with iced tea, lemonade, & coffee.

Sunday Dinner Buffet - 5:30PM - 7:00 PM

Barbecue chicken, flank steak with mushrooms and onions, baked potato bar with sour cream, butter, bacon bits, green onions, shredded cheese, house made macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob, house salad with Italian and ranch dressing, dinner rolls, assorted dessert bars and cookies. Served with iced tea, lemonade, & coffee.

**Accommodations:**

When booking your room, tell them you are with the sewing retreat so that way you will get the best rate. Renting a room at the hotel is not mandatory and you will still be able to come to the party and have access to the sewing room for the entire twenty four hours in the day. This hotel has been recently renovated this past year and has several different styles of rooms to choose from.

**Show And Tell, Available Each Day**

Bring your finished items to show us the cool things that you have made. For each item that you show us you will receive three tickets to be used in that days’ door prize drawings. (Limit 2 items per day per person.) Also, the teacher will be dressing in several different outfits throughout the day that she has custom made. If you make clothing please wear your awesome outfits that way you can be part of the fashion show.

**Large Indoor Communal Sewing Space, Available Each Day**

**What To Bring**

When using your machine an extension cord and a surge protector are required. Make sure to bring your UFOs (Unfinished Projects) along with the sewing supplies you need to complete them. There will be free communal cutting and ironing stations available.

**Scissor Sharpening Station**

We'll sharpen your scissors for you at $3 a pair. (Pay at the station.)

**10+ Venders**

Don't worry if you forget something because we'll have vendors on site for you to purchase any additional items and services you may require.

**Prices:**

- Participant Fee prepaid $40 per day or $50 at the door (if available)

- Vendor Fee prepaid $100 per day or $150 at the door (if available)

- You can save $5 dollars for each additional person and/or vendor you bring to this event each day that they are a paying retreat member. Their registration fee names and contact information must be provided at the same time that yours is paid by check to qualify for the discount. If you are selling tickets please inform me so that I can hold your space until you are able to submit your payment.  Plus Motley Muse LLC will pay you $5 per extra person and/or vendor you sign up after your registration fee is free. A check will be waiting for you with the teacher during the retreat at check out. In order to qualify for these perks all tickets must be prepaid prior to one week before the event.

**Registration Required:**

There are a limited number of spots available. Secure your spot by paying, and indicating what days you will be attending. We will then email your confirmation number to you. Please keep the email as proof of purchase for the day of the event. You may receive a full refund if you bought your ticket directly from Motley Muse LLC by check through the mail if you cancel a minimum of 1 week before the event. **Venders Wanted (Items, services, and Nonfood):**

The vendor fee includes electricity, 100 square feet of floor space (Unassigned), one 8 foot table and two chairs, plus social media advertising to our 40,000 facebook followers for your business. https://www.facebook.com/groups/875412926876950/ When mailing your payment write a brief distribution of the types of products you will be selling at the event. So we can help advertise for you please tell us the special promotions and discounts you will be offering at the retreat. Plus the link or contact information where you want us to direct customers too. Immediately after each class there will be 15 minutes where you can demonstrate your products for sale to the students that relate to the class topic. When paying your registration indicate which time slot you would like and we will email you if that time is available. The day before the event the facility will be open for you to set up your space from 2pm to 5pm. Also To encourage more customers to come to the retreat each vendor is required to give one new item to be raffled off per day at a $20 minimum retail value. You're allowed to add promotional material in your basket. Please leave one with the teacher upon arrival each day. When paying on the website for your registration fee please leave all this information in a note during the check out process.
